NFL Tries to Break into Hispanic Market
The National Football League tasted its potential for growth in the Hispanic markets in the U.S. and Latin America when Mexico City played host to the first regular-season game outside the United States in 2005. Now the league is actively pushing to increase its popularity among Hispanics, but it faces stiff competition from the most popular sport among Hispanics: soccer.

Puerto Rico has the world's highest incidence of a fatal type of albinism that leads to pulmonary fibrosis, a deadly lung disease. Sufferers of this rare type of albinism have roughly five years to live once they have been diagnosed with the lung condition.

Mexico has created a new federal position to prosecute violence against women and human exploitation. The move comes after human rights groups continually urged the federal government to do more to investigate the killings of women along the U.S. border.


Boundaries Of Taste Tested At Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro has banned a samba group from entering a holocaust-inspired float in the Carnival championship this year. The float, which had a pile of concentration-camp victims at its base, was to be accompanied by a dancer dressed as Adolf Hitler.
